After returning from over a year in Australia and travelling South East Asia, I really wanted to set out and explore more of my homeland, the United Kingdom. Mainly because firstly, I was skint… I barely had any money to get me into London let alone another country! Secondly, in my opinion, the UK is so underrated!

As I have mentioned in my previous blog about Cornwall, many people come to the UK, but get stuck in the tourist traps of London and its other major cities; and whilst many of the UK's cities are vibrant, cultural and interesting, the backwaters are where you will find its true beauty.

The idea sprung to mind whilst on the toilet if I’m being honest with you and it’s a fairly

simple one really. I think many can agree that after a long days hiking, a drink of some sort is the best way to unwind. My focus of this blog series will be on hikes that finish in what makes Britain great, the pub. I love a good walk, whether it be through the winding country lanes, along sloping valleys, or up to the top of a mountain. I also love a beer or two. So I thought, why not combine the two and give you a straightforward guide to the best peaks/hikes that finish up in having a beer in some Britain's best pubs!

So stay tuned for many a blog to come in the ‘Peaks and Pints’ series, the first instalment will be the 1st december. Go follow my instagram @doms_discoveries, if you don't already, and keep track by following my stories.

If you have any suggestions on places I should check out feel free to contact me too, I’m always open to new ideas!

Also if you are having your own 'Peaks and Pints' adventure of your own, don't forget to @doms_discoveries and #domspeaksandpints, for a chance to get a feature on my story :)
