Episode 2

Curbar, The Peak District

Pub: The Bridge Inn, Calver

The second instalment had us venture up to the Peak District once again, this time; Curbar and it certainly didn't disappoint!

We started the walk in a little parking spot near the top of Curbar Edge; luckily the sun was shining but the wind had other ideas as it seemed to be trying to blow us away! We set off along the edge, and although the first mile or so was slow due to us taking photos and trying to climb on every rock possible, like a bunch of kids, we soon got into our stride. We found a path way down through Froggatt, to the river Derwent which meandered its way back to Curbar, via Calver. The last 0.5km incline back to the car was by far the toughest (especially after a few pints) but all in all a fairly moderate walk. Note: We never like to stick to a specific route as such but if you're wanting the typical Curbar Edge route then click here!

It was actually Calver where we found our chosen pub for the evening, The Bridge Inn. With a great selection of beers and ales and what looked like some reasonably priced/tasty food, it is definitely one we would return too. It had a great garden so would be ideal for the summer months!

 Walk Difficulty:

Pub Rating:

(Ratings are out of 5)

Accommodation: Like the previous outing, we were once again hosted in a home on Air Bnb, this time by Keith. Located in Froggatt, not far from Curbar and Calver, it was a perfect little spot for a nights stay.
